Fisherman’s Nook is a ground floor apartment, on the sea shore, close to the harbour at Millport. It originally formed part of a row of tiny single storey fishermen’s cottages, (the upstairs rooms were added later), probably dating back to the 18th century. In front of the property, above the rocks, is a small area of grass where the fishermen’s nets were once laid out to dry but today makes a sunny spot to sit, drink a glass of wine and enjoy the spectacular views of the islands of Wee Cumbrae and Arran.
Fisherman’s Nook is situated off a quiet road, just a few minutes walk to the main sandy beach where tropical palms front the promenade and yachts are moored out in the bay. From here you can explore the charm of a seaside town with shops, bars and restaurants. In the winter months a colony of seals live in the bay and can be spotted in the sea just in front of Fisherman’s Nook.
For walking, cycling, exploring the rock pools or fishing, on the lovely Isle of Cumbrae, Fisherman’s Nook makes a good starting point and a place to relax in at the end of an active day. An ideal location for artists.
